Pete Rock, one of the greatest producers of all time, took a sold out Lodge Room on a tour de force through hip hop history. Rock spent the better part of three decades merging jazz into the DNA of hip hop, working alongside Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G. Common, and dozens more. The crowd was a party from the first beat, moving and celebrating the opportunity to witness history.
Monalisa opened the night with a J Dilla tribute set that set the tone immediately, a reminder of the lineage before the legend himself took the stage.
