I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Global and International Studies at UC Irvine. My research examines political economy and critical development through the agrarian question in the Philippines. My dissertation, Following Rice: Agrarian Transformation in Central Luzon Rice Corridor follows rice as method to trace land, labor, and state development across Central Luzon. The project connects agrarian crisis in the Philippines to broader patterns of dependency, uneven development, and struggles over sovereignty across the Global South.
